The AmeMaga Renewal Project at AmebaLIFE not only modernized the design of a weekly newsletter but also significantly optimized its operational flow. By keeping the existing infrastructure to reduce costs, tools like React Email and automations that eliminated repetitive manual tasks were incorporated. This case shows how an engineer can generate real impact by combining technical skills with a strategic business vision.

In many technology projects, the engineer's role is often limited to implementing pre-defined solutions. However, when the full context is understood from business objectives to day-to-day operational processes opportunities arise to generate much greater impact.
This article presents the case of the AmeMaga redesign, a weekly newsletter within AmebaLIFE. What began as a visual update evolved into a comprehensive optimization of the workflow. Throughout the process, not only was the technical quality of the product improved, but manual tasks were reduced, operational time was optimized, and the experience of both the internal team and the end users was strengthened.

Before making any technical changes, the existing AmeMaga workflow was analyzed. It already used tools like Google Sheets and Google Apps Script to manage content and generate emails. Instead of completely replacing the system, a strategic decision was made: improve what was already working.
Key takeaways:
One of the main challenges was working with HTML Email, an environment with multiple technical constraints. Unlike traditional web development, many modern properties are not supported. To address this, React Email was used, which allowed writing more structured code and generating HTML compatible with email clients.
Key takeaways:
The result was a notable technical improvement without the need for a complete migration.

During the analysis of the operational flow, a significant inefficiency was detected: the manual cropping of images in each newsletter edition. This task consumed time consistently and did not provide strategic value.
Key takeaways:
The solution was to implement an automatic image optimization system, completely eliminating this manual task.
Beyond the technical implementation, opportunities were also identified to improve the end-user experience and internal operability. The use of the email preheader was incorporated, optimizing how content is presented in the inbox.
Key takeaways:
Additionally, knowledge transfer sessions and documentation were conducted to ensure the new workflow is sustainable in the long term.

The AmeMaga renewal demonstrates that an engineer's impact goes beyond technical development; by understanding the business, analyzing processes, and proposing strategic improvements, it is possible to generate tangible results in both efficiency and quality. This case shows that the combination of technical and soft skills enables optimization of existing systems, reduction of operational load, and creation of sustainable solutions over time.
